Scan Receipt

The Scan Receipt page (under Purchases) reads a photo of a receipt or bill and pre-fills a bill or expense for you.

How it works

  1. Go to Purchases → Scan Receipt.
  2. Upload a clear photo (JPG/PNG) of the receipt.
  3. Press Scan. The text is read on your device — the image is not sent to any server just to scan it. The first scan in a session takes a little longer while the reader loads.
  4. Review the detected vendor, amount, date, and GST amount. Edit anything that looks wrong — nothing is saved until you confirm.
  5. Choose Use as Bill or Use as Expense. The matching form opens pre-filled. For expenses, the uploaded image is attached as the receipt.
  6. Confirm the form and save.

Tips for better results

  • Use a flat, well-lit image with the totals clearly visible.
  • Detection is best-effort — always check the amount and date before saving.
  • If nothing is detected, you can still open a blank bill or expense form.
